He founded Necara after a career spanning aerospace, NASA and NOAA Earth observation missions, and software consulting, serving as a Technical Lead and Subject Matter Expert on complex systems integrations. Today, he leads Necara’s R&D and architecture efforts, helping teams solve complex technical challenges while aligning projects to mission and business objectives.

Forrest is a systems architect with over 12 years of experience across hardware, firmware, and software in commercial and research-driven environments. With a background spanning startups, defense applications, and complex guidance systems, he brings deep technical expertise and a sharp ability to identify and mitigate development and deployment risks. As a Technical Lead and Data/Software Systems Architect, he integrates seamlessly into teams, troubleshoots critical issues, and helps get complex projects back on track.

Derek joined Necara in 2021 and quickly distinguished himself as a high-performing software engineer, consistently delivering exceptional code well beyond his years of experience. Proficient in C++ and experienced across Java, Python, JavaScript, and PHP, he has worked on everything from front-end web UIs and backend services to data processing and Linux kernel drivers—primarily in aerospace and satellite communications. He integrates seamlessly into development teams and excels in fast-paced environments that demand quick learning and sharp problem-solving.

Nia joined Necara from the nonprofit sector, where she developed and refined web UI platforms and applications. With a strong eye for design and a sharp focus on user experience, she brings a polished, thoughtful aesthetic to our web development work—elevating our customers’ platforms and dashboards.
